There were some gorgeous days in the middle of March so we headed over to the Botanic Gardens for our first trip this spring.  Always a fun time!

Sonja was very excited that she wrote her name all by herself for the first time!

New Cousin!

This is way old news but these pictures were cute so I had to share!

My niece Lucia Gloria was born on March 6th.  The girls were really excited to get to see her in the hospital and I was excited to get to see her when she was only a couple hours old!

 We feel beyond blessed on days like this when we are reminded of the goodness of God and the wonderful family and friends that we have.

Climber

In February, we took the girls to the Winter Carnival at the high school I attended (and where they will attend).  It was fun to go back since I hadn't been since I was a student and funny to see how much I actually remember about where things are even though its been a while.  One of my most clear memories was probably where I was when I heard the OJ Simpson verdict read, how pathetic is that? :)

Anyway, we were walking past the climbing wall and the girls wanted to say hi to someone from church who was belaying there.  Someone asked the girls if they wanted to try and Sonja of course said yes immediately. I honestly don't think she really had any idea what she was actually saying yes to!  They had a harness just her size and she was on her way.  It was funny to see as two complete strangers whisked her away and started putting the harness on and tightening it, she was totally unphased.  She was basically dragged up to the top but she had a ton of fun and it was a great first climbing experience!

We had a chance to go swimming at my grandparents new place and it was a great.  We'll definitely be doing that again!

I thought I would share these pictures of some fun we had at preschool with snow and ice.

Painting on ice...I froze water on these trays and then the kids painted on their ice "canvas" and sprinkled them with salt for a cool effect.
